ADNOC has partnered with SLB to deploy an AI-powered Real-Time Operations Center (RTOC) across its fleet of over 120 onshore and offshore drilling rigs, aiming to boost efficiency, reduce risks, and accelerate decision-making.

The platform, built on SLB's DrillOps solutions, consolidates live drilling data into a unified digital environment and is hosted on ADNOC's sovereign cloud in the UAE to ensure secure in-country data storage.

The AI system reduces engineering workload by 30%–40%, enabling engineers to manage two to three times more rigs. Tasks that once took a full day are now completed in minutes, and reporting cycles have shrunk from days to hours.

It can flag potential issues before they escalate, cutting incident response times by 4–12 hours and helping avoid 1–2 days of rig downtime through continuous monitoring and AI-driven insights.

ADNOC's Upstream CEO called this a shift from AI ambition to real-world impact; SLB's Digital president said the solution paves the way for more autonomous operations.

The platform is now fully deployed across ADNOC Drilling's fleet, supporting both onshore and offshore operations.

In May, ADNOC Drilling's CFO stated that, if approved, the company is ready to raise the UAE's oil production capacity beyond the 5 million bbl/d target by 2027, with sufficient rigs, technology, and partnerships in place.
