Lockdown screw packing seal PR2 Test for wellhead seal

Lockdown Screw packing seal is usually made of an HBNR compression packing element with molded metal end caps. But JST has developed a lockdown screw packing seal which is made of one filled PTFE and two cooper end caps.

It is the sealing between wellhead members in a wellhead, including a seal element and a lockdown member. The seal is attachable to either one of the wellhead members by coupling the lockdown member to a locking surface on the wellhead member.

The lockdown surface may include corresponding profiles for mating engagement to preventing relative movement between the wellhead member and seal assembly.

JST's Lockdown screw packing seal passed PR2 test.

3) Material： PE001(PTFE)+T1 (Contains over 99% copper)

4) Temperature： -60℃~177℃ ( -76℉~350℉)

5) Pressure： 15000psi

6) Gas Test Medium： N2

7) Sealing Type： Static seal

8) Shell test pressure: 22500psi

9) Test Medium for Shell test: Water

10) Rated torque: Verify the torque value of 590 ft-lbs/800N.M for Lockdown screw body and the stuffing box nut

Conclusion：

1.51" LDS (Lockdown Screw Seal) packing PN. ESD0015ZP2G01 passed the Pre-qualification testing per API 6A PSL 3G.

(PSL 3G will include a shell test pressure of 22.5Ksi for 15K working pressure rated products.), Pressure temperature cycle test as per API 6A 21st Edition Annex F PR2F table F.18 and Torque test as per customer’s requirement; (Torque value test is required before PR2F and after PR2F) at temperature K-X(-60℃~177℃ ( -76℉~350℉)) and working pressure of 15,000 psi with gas as test medium.

The test data can be found in the above testing procedure, which meets the testing acceptance standards.
