What is a Step Seal and How Does It Enhance Cylinder Performance?

The Step seal is a preloaded combination seal, integrating a PTFE glide ring for dynamic sealing and an elastomeric O-ring for static sealing and energization. For optimal system performance, it is recommended to be used in conjunction with a double-lipped wiper seal.

Application Range:

This seal is extensively used in precision and heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders, including those in control systems, servo mechanisms, machine tools, and construction machinery.


Installation Instructions:

1. The seal is generally installed by hand by compressing it into a kidney shape for insertion into closed grooves.

2. If installation tools are required, they must be made of soft, non-marring material and be free of sharp edges.

3. Prior to installation, the seal must be lubricated with a medium-compatible lubricant.
