What Tests Ensure a Bonded Seal's Reliability?
Bonded Seal Test: Ensuring Reliable Sealing Performance.
What is a Bonded Seal?
Bonded seals are widely used in industries such as oil & gas . A bonded seal consists of a metallic with a vulcanized elastomer sealing. The combination of rigid support and flexible sealing ensures high pressure resistance and leak-tight performance.
Key Tests for Bonded Seals
To ensure performance, these seals undergo rigorous testing, including:
Leakage Test: Verifies sealing capability at rated and over-pressures.
Tear Resistance Test: Confirms the elastomer's robustness during installation and operation.
Compression Set Test: Evaluates permanent deformation after long-term compression.
Thermal Aging Test: Ensures sealing function remains after exposure to high temperatures.
Pressure Cycling Test: Simulates real-world conditions with repeated pressure fluctuations.
JST has tested bonded seal under below working condition, The test proved the Bonded Seal product can meet the working conditions and pass the sealing test requirements.
Test condition:
1) Temperature:300F(148.9℃)
2) Pressure:8000psi
3) Medium:Transaqua HT2
4) Movement:Reciprocating&Static
