Back-up Ring/anti extrusion back up rings are a ring that holds an elastomeric seal to its outline shape and in its right place. and back up ring seal is typically used with O Rings to eliminate extrusion at high pressures.
Peek backup rings are protective and supporting elements made of anti extrusion materials, usually with rectangular cross-section. They are installed in grooves together with elastic seals. In static applications, elastic seals are preferably equipped with corresponding O-rings. Because the backup rings fit closely with the housing, they prevent the pressurized elastic seal from squeezing into the sealing gap.
PEEK is a semi-crystalline, show high stiffness and hardness, has an unique high tensile strength and fatiue strength, Resistant to high-engery radiation, high abrasion and wear resistant, good electrical insulator even at high voltages, and is characterised mainly by its very good mechanical properties and exceptional dimensional stability even continous operation at high temperatures of up to 250°C.
Our backup rings are made of pure PTFE, filled PTFE or peek, depending on the application.
