Spring energized PTFE lip seal

The seal jacket of adhesive dispenser/dispensing seal is made of ultra-high molecular UHMWPE or PEEK, with installed stainless steel anti-corrosion spring with low temperature resistance treatment.

The spring energized seal is widely used in medical equipment, which is generally composed of a corrosion resistant spring and a seal ring made of U-shaped filled PTFE/UPE material.  

A seal assembly for use in a wellbore tool, it acts as a flow restrictor protecting a lower end of the seal assembly from high pressure and/or high volume flow.

JST's back up ring compensate for large temperature fluctuations. Using Back-up Rings allows O-Rings to be utilized in higher pressure applications, where larger extrusion gaps are required and where there are reciprocating or rotating movements. Back-up Rings are protective and supporting elements with no sealing function. The back up ring material could be  PEEK, modified PTFE.

In LNG operations, valves can regularly encounter temperatures below -320 F (-196 C) and pressures above 750 pounds per square inch (psi). They are also subjected to periodic variations in temperatures known as “thermal cycling,” which can result in hardware expansion as well as shrinkage and material stresses. These factors make reliable, long-term valve operation an engineering challenge.
